Hello,
I’m Bryan Heredia
At heart, I’m a lifelong maker and curious learner. I enjoy designing memorable and delightful product experiences with good people.
Hi, I’m Bryan Heredia 👋. I’m a product design leader with 15+ years of shaping design experiences from 0-to-1 at startups, agencies, and large-scale software companies.
I’ve successfully guided teams through ambiguity and cross-organization collaboration to deliver experiences that truly impact both users and the business. I believe in fostering a team culture where everyone cares deeply about design craftsmanship, accessibility, integrity, responsible innovation, and supporting each other.
I do my best work when I’m mixing leadership with hands-on design and storytelling, and I believe the purpose of design is to make life better for everyone.
If you want to discuss a new opportunity or see more detailed case studies, you can email me or book a time to chat.

AI, new product launches, making media better, and scaling product teams
As the Principal Product Design Manager for Microsoft Copilot AI and Pages, Microsoft’s GenAI-first canvas creation and AI artifacts experience. I supported several teams in shaping the first AI chat-and-canvas creation model at Microsoft, empowering customers to communicate and co-create shared artifacts. We took the experience from 0-to-1 through design vision, designing system patterns, initial artifact designs, and design storytelling featured in Microsoft CEO keynotes at Ignite 2024 and Build 2025 to the public. These projects deepened my expertise on what it takes to help people collaborate with AI as a true partner. We created multi-player experiences, new UX patterns, and human-in-loop flows—translating emerging technology into more human experiences.
As one of the founding design leaders for Microsoft Loop, I helped launch a brand-new collaborative app experience within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. We created Loop’s brand and design system, and guided the creation of foundational app features for communication, notifications, expressions, and canvas AI. We were asked to break from traditional Microsoft design guidelines to bring a fresh, consumer-grade experience to the market.
I was the design lead for Microsoft Photos, and defined the time-based photo memories ecosystem spanning OneDrive and Windows, pitching and launching features that increased daily active user engagement and app usage. I also founded our first Customer-Driven Team at Microsoft Vancouver—a cross-disciplinary group dedicated to customer insight, skill-sharing, and community learning that brings the product makers closer to the customers. That initiative strengthened my belief that design leadership starts with curiosity, inclusion, and connecting with others.
🍁 2012-2018
Moving to Canada, agency life, startup acquisitions, and a love for making products
Before joining Microsoft, I served as Creative Director at ImageX, guiding international teams delivering strategy and design for clients like the YMCA, universities, and Technical Safety BC. Our work earned a dotCOMM Gold Award and increased engagement by over 50%. I learned how to lead multi-disciplinary teams through complex, mission-driven projects where design had to serve both clarity and emotion.
I moved to Vancouver, BC in Canada in 2012 to join startup called Tagga. It was there that I grew from UI/UX Designer into their Director of Design and Campaign Services, leading a multi-disciplinary team that built marketing-intelligence software and digital campaigns for global brands like adidas, MLS, NBA, and Red Bull. It was a pivotal time in my career—where I what it means to support a team of talented people.
At Tagga, I learned how to accomplish big things with a small team, scaling our process, raising design quality, and delivering strategic value beyond our size. Together, we built a culture on collaboration, experimentation, and shared ownership, which ultimately helped position the company for its successful acquisition by Campaign Monitor. This is where I discovered my passion for building teams and how rewarding it can be to help designers grow into their own leadership paths.
Prior to 2012
Starting my career in Chicago and designing for “all the things”
The Windy City is where I grew up and started my career. At EnvisionIt Agency, I gained hands-on experience across the full spectrum of design mediums—from motion and web design to print, front-end development, and video editing for broadcast commercials. Working across so many disciplines early on gave me a deep appreciation for how every element shapes the end-to-end product experience. Later on in my career, I modeled a lot of my initial approach to leadership from the Creative Director and design leads at EnvisionIt, while I was still finding my own voice.
I learned the value of growing quickly with a tight-knit creative team at Red Frog Events. I helped design and code Red Frog’s end-to-end branded experiences for their social race events like Warrior Dash, Great Urban Race, and Beach Palooza. It was a great place to start right out of school, with all the fun things they promised you in design school. It was filled with young, talented, and fun people who could be found racing around on scooters in the office, holding meetings in our built-in treehouse, and flying out to the next event destination.
That foundation still guides how I think about design today: at the intersection of storytelling, craft, and systems thinking.
