About

Hello,
Iβm Bryan Heredia
At heart, Iβm a lifelong maker and curious learner. I enjoy designing delightful and memorable product experiences with good people.
Iβm a product design leader shaping AI design systems and product experiences from 0-to-1 across startups, agencies, and enterprise software. I strive to foster a team culture where everyone cares deeply about continuous learning, exploration, open collaboration, responsible innovation, and setting a high bar for craftsmanship. I do my best work when Iβm mixing leadership with hands-on design and storytelling.
π 2018 to now
AI, new product launches, making media better, and scaling product teams
As a Principal Product Design Manager, I led the vision and strategy for Microsoft Copilot Pages and Loop. I supported several teams in shaping the company's first Generative AI chat, artifact, and canvas creation models, empowering 150M+ customers to create and steer AI. We took the experience from 0-to-1 through design vision, designing system patterns, initial artifact designs, and design storytelling featured in Microsoft CEO keynotes at Ignite 2024 and Build 2025 to the public. These projects deepened my expertise on what it takes to help people collaborate with AI as a true partner. We created multi-player experiences, new UX patterns, and human-in-the-loop flows, translating emerging technology into more human experiences.
As one of the founding design leaders for Microsoft Loop, I helped launch a brand-new collaborative app experience within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. My team led the design experiences and partnerships across five product pillars: brand and design system, communication, expressions, notifications, and canvas AI. We were asked to break from traditional Microsoft design guidelines to bring a fresh, consumer-grade experience to the market.
Before Loop, I co-founded and helped scale our M365 Video Experiences team to help bring short-form video messaging and connection features to high-traffic apps such as Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Viva. We built a modern, powerful video component system still being used today.
I started my career at the company as a design lead for the Microsoft Photos team. We created the first time-based photo memories ecosystem spanning OneDrive and Windows. Together, we launched new feature experiences across all platforms, increasing the company's consumer offering and daily user engagement. Because I believe in bringing product makers closer to the customer, I also started our first Customer-Driven Team at the Microsoft Vancouver site for our studio. The team was a cross-disciplinary group dedicated to meeting customers, collecting insights, skill-sharing, and building community. That initiative strengthened my belief that design leadership starts with curiosity, inclusion, and connecting with others.
π 2012-2018
Moving to Canada, agency life, startup acquisitions, and a love for making products
Before joining Microsoft, I served as Creative Director at ImageX, guiding international teams delivering strategy and design for clients like the YMCA, universities, and Technical Safety BC. Our work earned a dotCOMM Gold Award and increased engagement by over 50%. I learned how to lead multi-disciplinary teams through complex, mission-driven projects where design had to serve both clarity and emotion.
I moved to Vancouver, BC in Canada in 2012 to join a startup called Tagga. It was there that I grew from a UI/UX Designer into their Director of Design and Campaign Services, leading a multi-disciplinary team that built marketing-intelligence software and digital campaigns for global brands like adidas, MLS, NBA, and Red Bull. It was a pivotal time in my career, where I learned what it means to support a team of talented people.
At Tagga, I learned how to accomplish big things with a small team, scaling our process, raising design quality, and delivering strategic value beyond our size. Together, we built a culture on collaboration, experimentation, and shared ownership, which ultimately helped position the company for its successful acquisition by Campaign Monitor. This is where I discovered my passion for building teams and how rewarding it can be to help designers grow into their own leadership paths.
π Prior to 2012
Starting my career in Chicago and designing for "all the things"
The Windy City is where I grew up and started my career. At EnvisionIt Agency, I gained hands-on experience across the full spectrum of design mediums: motion and web design, print, front-end development, and video editing for broadcast commercials. Working across so many disciplines early on gave me a deep appreciation for how every element shapes the end-to-end product experience. The Creative Director and design leads here are who I modelled my initial leadership approach from, until I eventually found my own voice and approach through experience.
I learned the value of growing quickly with a tight-knit creative team at Red Frog Events. I helped design and code Red Frog's end-to-end branded experiences for their social race events like Warrior Dash, Great Urban Race, and Beach Palooza. It was a great place to start right out of school, filled with all the fun things you hear about a fast-growing startup: young, talented people racing around on scooters in the office, holding meetings in our built-in treehouse, and flying out to the next event destination.
I mention these early career experiences because this foundation still guides how I think about design today: at the intersection of storytelling, craft, and systems thinking.
